The BJP on Thursday secured a majority after winning 44 of the 60 wards in the Mangaluru City Corporation polls. The Congress secured 14 wards and two other wards were won by Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) candidates. In the last elections, Congress had won the majority by bagging 35 seats while BJP with 20 seats sat in Opposition.
