Booker Prize winner was once decided by coin toss, reveals archive

The winner of the 1976 Man Booker Prize was decided on a coin toss, an archive revealed. David Storey won the prize for his novel Saville after a three-judge panel was unable to come to a decision. The coin toss happened after two judges were torn between Storey's novel and another book, while the third judge didn't want to vote.
