The head of the Turkish Defence Industry Directorate, Ismail Demir, has said the country bought S-400 missile defence systems from Russia to use them, not put them aside. This comes after US President Donald Trump urged Turkish President Recep Erdogan to drop the S-400 systems. Erdogan had said Turkey plans to buy US Patriot defences in addition to the S-400s.
