India's 22-year-old boxer Jamuna Boro defeated Algeria's 2017 African Championships gold medallist Ouidad Sfouh to reach the quarter-finals of 54kg category at World Women's Boxing Championships. With this, Assam-born Boro is one win away from claiming a medal on her World Championships debut. Meanwhile, Lovlina Borgohain beat Morocco's Oumayma Bel Ahbib 5-0 to reach the last eight of 69kg event.
