A group of scientists has successfully isolated a strain of the coronavirus and grown samples in a lab to help study the pathogen responsible for the global pandemic. Researchers say isolating the virus will help develop treatments, vaccines and tests for the virus and allow them to conduct long-term research to understand the biology of COVID-19.
