The CBI has booked its own officer for allegedly extorting ₹5 crore from a Gujarat-based businessman by threatening him with action from Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department. Sunil Nair called Shailesh Bhatt to CBI's Gandhinagar office and threatened action for "earning black money" using bitcoin. He demanded ₹10 crore to remain silent before bringing it down to ₹5 crore.
