Chemicals in sunscreens get absorbed into the blood: USFDA

A US Food and Drug Administration study has found that the active ingredients in sunscreens can be absorbed into the blood at levels that exceed the FDA's presumed-safe threshold. "[A]n ingredient is absorbed through the skin and into the body does not mean the ingredient is unsafe," said Dr Janet Woodcock, director of FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
