China passes law giving it greater control over Hong Kong: Reports

China has reportedly passed a national security law in Hong Kong following anti-government protests last year. According to Chinese state media, the law would criminalise offences such as secession and subversion against the Chinese government. Hong Kong, a former British colony, is part of China but run under "one country, two systems" principle, that guarantees it a level of autonomy.
