China will build ground stations in Antarctica to back its network of ocean monitoring satellites, local media reported. The stations will be built by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which won the tender with its 43.95 million yuan ($6.53 million) bid, state-controlled China Space News reported. They will be reportedly located at China's Zhongshan research base in Antarctica.
