Clearest view of Milky Way's centre captured

South Africa-based MeerKAT radio telescope, which was inaugurated last week, took the clearest view yet of the Milky Way's centre, which contains the galaxy's largest black hole, weighing about four million solar masses. Lying behind Sagittarius constellation, the region 25,000 light-years away from Earth is covered by clouds of gas and dust, making it invisible while using ordinary telescopes.
