The Uttarakhand High Court directed the state government to conduct an audit of deaths that happened during second wave of COVID-19. The court also ordered an audit of ventilators in government hospitals to understand how many pieces of equipment are unused. Noting that private hospitals are overcharging for COVID-19 treatment, it underlined that such facilities must face legal action.
