Malaysia's Economic Affairs Minister on Saturday said the country will cancel its $20-billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project with contractor China Communications Construction. "The... cost to develop the ECRL is too big and we don't have [the] financial capacity," he added. Malaysia had in August 2018 cancelled a natural gas pipeline project which was also backed by China.
