Elephant Laxmi, missing for over 2 months, rescued in Delhi

Elephant Laxmi, missing for over two months, was rescued on Wednesday from Akshardham, east Delhi. The mahout had fled with Laxmi on July 6 after some wildlife officials tried to seize the animal and had been hiding within the city. The mahout has been arrested and Laxmi is temporarily being kept in east Delhi's Shakarpur police station.
