Ericsson agrees to pay $1 bn to resolve US corruption probes

The US justice department said Ericsson has agreed to pay over $1 billion to resolve allegations of bribery and corruption. The long-running corruption investigation involves potential payoffs in countries including China. The settlement would require Ericsson to pay over $520-million criminal penalty and around $540-million fine to US Securities and Exchange Commission in a related matter.
