California-based EV maker Rivian Automotive is laying off 6% of its workforce, or about 840 employees, to cut costs, Reuters reported citing an internal memo. The company is focusing resources on increasing vehicle production and reaching profitability, CEO RJ Scaringe said in an email to employees. Scaringe reportedly apologised to employees for the necessity of the cuts in the email.
