Ex-CM Prithviraj Chavan loses to BJP's Bhosale from South Karad

Former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, 78, lost to BJP's Atul Bhosale from South Karad in Maharashtra Assembly polls. He was defeated by the 41-year-old MBBS doctor by 39,355 votes. This marks a significant shift in the constituency as Chavan, a veteran Congress leader, secured a win in the 2019 elections by defeating Bhosale by a margin of 9,513 votes.
