European Union's law enforcement agency Europol said that the extremists used the COVID-19 pandemic to spread violent ideologies. The Europol report added that Islamist extremists remained the main threat for European countries in 2020. Data from six EU countries revealed that there were 57 successful, failed or foiled incidents classified as terrorist attacks last year.
