The US Treasury Department has said it has "very serious concerns" that Facebook's upcoming cryptocurrency Libra could be misused for terrorism and money laundering. Labelling the digital currency as a "national security issue", the department added, "Our overriding goal is to maintain the integrity of our financial system and protect it from abuse." Facebook announced the cryptocurrency in June.
