Researchers from Australia's Monash, Swinburne and RMIT universities have recorded the fastest internet data speed of 44.2 Terabits per second (Tbps). It is capable of downloading 1000 HD movies in a split second. Researchers said they achieved it by using a device that replaces around 80 lasers found in existing telecoms hardware, with a single equipment known as a 'micro-comb'.
