Fiscal deficit hits 112.4% of FY19 target in April-December

India's fiscal deficit in April-December 2018 stood at ₹7.01 lakh crore or 112.4% of the budgeted target for the current financial year. The gap between the government's revenue and expenditure had stood at 113.6% in December 2017. The government had in the Interim Budget revised the fiscal deficit for 2018-19 at 3.4% of the GDP from 3.3% earlier.
