A former US policeman who shot a black teenager 16 times in 2014 has been sentenced to nearly 7 years in jail. The 17-year-old was shot dead by Jason Van Dyke after he refused to follow Dyke's command to drop a knife that he was holding. During the trial, Dyke argued for his innocence, insisting that he acted in self-defence.
