GM, Ford to cut more North American production due to chip shortage

General Motors and Ford Motor will be cutting more vehicle production due to a semiconductor chip shortage that has hit the automotive industry. The cuts will affect GM's factories in Tennessee, Mexico and Michigan, among other places. Ford will cancel production next week at its Chicago Assembly Plant, Flat Rock Assembly Plant and part of its Kansas City Assembly Plant.
