The government has slashed the annual minimum marking fee to get a new Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) licence and certification by 50% for startups, micro-enterprises, and women entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises with existing BIS licence will be given an additional 10% concession, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. The move is aimed at promoting Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
