Madras High Court has banned the display of advertisements and hoardings near traffic signals across Tamil Nadu, days after it banned the use of images of living persons on hoardings. This comes after a petitioner argued that several hoardings at traffic junctions violated Indian Road Congress guidelines. Under the guidelines, advertisements are not permitted within 100 metres of road junctions.
