Hong Kong's pro-democracy newspaper Apple Daily has announced its closure, adding that its final edition would be published "no later than Saturday". Its publisher, Next Digital, said the decision was taken "due to the current circumstances prevailing in Hong Kong". Recently, police froze Apple Daily's assets and arrested staff members over a suspected breach of the new national security law.
