Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said Home Minister Amit Shah has authorised him to hold talks with the insurgent group United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA). "Assam government has maintained some communication with ULFA chief Paresh Baruah," he added. Sarma further said if things moved in a proper direction, the central government may get involved in peace parleys.
