Various US media outlets covered Zohran Mamdani becoming New York's youngest mayor, with The New York Times calling him an "electrifying voice" for New Yorkers. The Washington Post front page however did not mention Mamdani nor his win. The New York Post carried the headline "On your Marx, get set, Zo!" showing Mamdani with a Communist hammer and sickle symbol.
