A 31-year-old Madras University student has alleged that she was sexually harassed by her Head of Department (HoD) in front of other students in his office on March 16. The student and four male students approached the HoD over discrepancies in semester exam scores. The female student said the HoD touched her inappropriately while pushing her and called her "powerless".
