Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT-G) has created a UVC LED-based device to sanitise floors of homes, hospitals, buses etc. amid coronavirus spread. UVC is a technology to sanitise microorganism infected non-porous surfaces and can achieve 90% killing rate, said Dr Senthilmurugan Subbiah, who led the research. The device, when commercialised, may be available for ₹1,000, reported PTI.
