Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said India has become the world's second-largest importer of LPG after China. Imports of LPG grew 12.5% over the past five years to 12 million metric tons in 2018-19, he added. Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) of providing LPG connections to the poor, over 6.31 crore connections have been provided.
