India successfully test-fires nuclear-capable Agni-5 missile with range of 5,000 km

The government has said that it successfully test-fired surface-to-surface nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni-5 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha on Wednesday. "The missile, which uses 3-stage solid-fuelled engine, is capable of striking targets at ranges up to 5,000 kilometres with a very high degree of accuracy," the government stated.
