Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said the entire rail network in India will run 100% on electricity by 2024. Speaking at the India-Brazil Business Forum, Goyal added, "It will be first railway in the entire world, of this scale and size, to be run on electricity." There are plans to make Indian Railways a zero-emission network by 2030, Goyal added.
