Zydus, part of Ahmedabad-based Cadila Healthcare, on Friday said it received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India to conduct Phase I and II human clinical trials for its Covid-19 vaccine candidate 'ZyCoV-D'. This is the second Indian vaccine candidate to get approval for human trials. Zydus said the potential vaccine showed a "strong immune response" in animal studies.
