ITC Managing Director Sanjiv Puri was on Monday appointed as Chairman after the demise of Yogesh Chander Deveshwar on Saturday. Padma Bhushan awardee and an IIT Delhi alumnus, Deveshwar, who was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, passed away aged 72 after a prolonged illness. Reportedly, Puri was mentored by Deveshwar for the role of Chairman and Managing Director.
