Johnson & Johnson ordered to pay ₹201 cr to woman in cancer case

A California jury has ordered Johnson & Johnson (J&J) to pay $29 million (₹201 crore) to a woman who blamed asbestos-tainted talc for causing her cancer. The jurors held J&J responsible for Teresa Leavitt's mesothelioma, a cancer linked to asbestos exposure. The verdict marks the latest defeat for the healthcare conglomerate facing over 13,000 talc-related lawsuits in the US.
