Journalist Prashant Kanojia was released from Lucknow jail on Wednesday evening, five days after he was arrested for allegedly defaming Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. Supreme Court had ordered his immediate release, saying the fundamental right of liberty is non-negotiable. He was released after giving two sureties of ₹20,000 each and a personal bond of the same amount.
