Kyrgyzstan’s ex-President Almazbek Atambayev has been charged with murder and causing mass unrest on Tuesday after a clash with the police last week. On Wednesday, Atambayev's supporters had reportedly repulsed a raid by police to arrest him at his house in which a security officer was killed. Atambayev surrendered to the police for questioning in a corruption case on Thursday.
