A lawyer named Anil Kumar allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide at a court in Kurnool district to press for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. Kumar wrote "special status is the right of Andhraites" on his forehead and recorded a video of the act. He is undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition.
