Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in his Independence Day speech on Thursday lauded the liquor ban imposed by his government as a path-breaking initiative which benefited the society immensely. "People were taken away from the bottle and engaged in productive work," he said. "Over four crore people from (Bihar) joined the movement supporting the liquor ban," Kumar added.
