Low intelligence linked to higher risk of suicide: Study

A study, based on data on intelligence and emotional control, collected from 48,738 Swedish men at ages 18-20 years, studied the link between intelligence, emotional control and the risk of suicide later in life. The study found that intelligence and emotional control assessed in late adolescence both showed robust inverse associations with suicidal behaviour over the 38-year follow-up.
