The Maharashtra Cabinet gave approval for the establishment of a cow service commission to implement a 2015 beef ban law. The law prohibits consumption and sale of beef and will take steps to improve well-being of livestock. The cabinet approved ₹10 crore for setting up the commission which will have 24 members and a chairman nominated by the state government.
