Manipur has set up dedicated quarantine centres for the transgender community in Imphal. Ngangom Uttam, Director of the Social Welfare Department, said the move was taken after there were "some instances where transgenders... faced inconvenience when accommodated... either with male [or] female occupants." There are separate centres for those who have come from 'green' and 'red' zones.
