The director and a teacher of the Brahmakumari Ashram in Mumbai's Kurla were duped of ₹24 lakh by a disciple who said he'd get them high returns. When the director asked for her money, the man threatened he would die by suicide and blame her for it. The disciple had reportedly got the director good returns in an initial investment.
