Mumbai recorded 2,479 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which is 50% higher than the cases reported on Wednesday. Some backdated cases were reported in Thursday's bulletin since the ICMR portal wasn't functioning for the last two days, the health department said. The positivity rate stood at 12.14%, while one person died due to the infection in the last 24 hours.
