North Korean hackers conducted at least seven attacks on cryptocurrency platforms that extracted nearly $400 million worth of digital assets in 2021, Chainalysis said. The number of North Korea-linked hacks in 2020 was four. The value extracted from these hacks grew by 40% in 2021. The attackers used phishing lures, code exploits, malware and advanced social engineering to siphon funds.
