Tamil actor Suriya Sivakumar called NEET a threat to students and said that education should be a state's responsibility and right. "For a country like India that's diverse in language and culture...education system (should be) in the hands of its state," he added. He argued that education is vastly different for students from marginalised communities to those from rich backgrounds.
