The servers of news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) suffered a ransomware attack over the weekend, disrupting the delivery of news to its subscribers across India. The services were restored by Sunday morning and no ransom was paid, a company spokesperson said. The ransomware, identified as LockBit, blocks user access to computer systems in exchange for a ransom.
