Japanese carmaker Nissan on Monday admitted to falsifying data about exhaust emissions and fuel economy tests at five of its factories in Japan. The falsification of data occurred on 19 car models, an internal investigation of employees conducting the final check of the vehicles revealed. No recalls are required as the affected models conformed to Japanese safety standards, Nissan said.
