Jim Boult, the Mayor of New Zealand's Queenstown Lakes District, bungee jumped above the Kawarau River to celebrate the lifting of lockdown. The bungee jump was the first since the seven-week lockdown and signalled re-opening of the town's tourism industry. New Zealand's PM Jacinda Ardern had announced the country was ready to start gradually reopening from May 14.
