Haridwar district in Uttarakhand has reported more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in the last two days as lakhs of devotees gathered at the ongoing Kumbh Mela. Haridwar reported 408 new COVID-19 cases on Monday and 594 new cases on Tuesday, according to data by the state government. Notably, devotees participated in the third 'shahi snan' in Ganga on Wednesday.
